The Wave Pictures es una banda de rock inglesa formada por David Tattersall, Franic Rozycki and Jonny Helm en 1998.
En sus comienzos David y Franic formaban junto a Hugh Noble el grupo Blind Summit pero la banda cambió su nombre por The Wave pictures y Hugh fue sustituido por Jonny Helm.

En los inicios de su discografía encontramos multitud de CD-R grabados a ritmo frenético y con un sonido decididamene muy lo-fi. De la mano de Darren Hayman (Hefner) y André Herman Düne (a quienes telonearon y con los cuales tienen gran afinidad tanto estilística como personal) comienzan a ser más reconocidos.La sencillez y sinceridad de sus letras, casi siempre acompañadas de pegadizas melodías, marca un estilo que a base de canciones ha acabado siendo muy personal.
A partir de la distribución Sophie (2006) empieza a denotarse la mano de cierta producción más profesional aunque sin abandonar totalmente el lo-fi. Los últimos Instant Coffee Baby (2008) y If You Leave It Alone (2009) a parte de consolidar al grupo han tenido una mayor distribución y han confirmado cierto cambio de rumbo en sus composiciones y producciones.
